Farm School
Ethos & Benefits
At Toddlers Inn, we believe in nurturing a deep connection between children and nature. We also believe that children learn best through hands-on experiences. Having furry and fluffy animals like our guinea pigs called Ghost, Marbles, Pip and Posie at the nursery brings joy, curiosity, and a sense of responsibility. Children develop their life skills through preparing tasty meals for Cookie and Crumble - our lovely kind rabbits, & they practice their maths skills by counting and watching our feathered friends, Reggie the cockerel, and hens called Fran, Frizz, Belle, Stumpy and many more. Through daily interactions, for example, with our nursery chickens, collecting their eggs, and through stroking Flash, Crackers and Elsa the African Land snails, children develop empathy, confidence, and a love for nature.

Why animals make nursery even more special:
Looking after animals helps children understand the importance of being gentle and responsible. Animals have a calming effect and bring lots of smiles which naturally boosts happiness and wellbeing.
Watching animals grow and play sparks curiosity and an interest in a cycle of life which makes learning even more exciting!
Talking about and caring for animals helps children communicate and work together as a family.
Important tasks, like brushing our guinea pigs or filling water bowls, give children a great sense of achievement.
